Return to an Old Favorite: Bays Ridge to Front Hollow
Hi everybody! It’s me, Amber! I haven’t posted in a few weeks because Mama’s been running around doing “important human things,” but she promised we’re getting back to hiking regularly so I can keep y’all updated. I’ve got trails to sniff and stories to tell!

Today she surprised me with a trip to Mr. Bay’s Mountain — and not just any hike, but the SUPER FUN one with rocks, squirrels, mossy patches, a creek, and mud puddles. I got so excited my tail almost helicoptered us off the dam.

We climbed up Bays Ridge Road, then turned onto Bays Ridge Trail where the squirrels were having a whole meeting (I tried to attend). Then we went DOWN the mountain — like, really down — with Mama sliding on leaves while I trotted along like a professional.
Front Hollow Road still had mud puddles, but not the boot‑stealing kind from last time. I only got a little muddy. I know. I’m disappointed too.

I found a creek, got a drink, splashed like a champion, and powered up the hill to Ledbetter Gap. Mama wouldn’t let me go to the old quarry (rude), so we headed toward the beaver pond and lake instead. I splashed again. Obviously.

On the dam, two little boys petted me and I loved them immediately. My tail was doing its best impression of a helicopter blade again.
After all that, Mama said we had to go home. I was ready for round two, but Mama looked tired. Humans need more naps.

I can’t wait to see where we go next — and I promise I’ll keep posting more now that Mama’s schedule is calming down!
Love, Amber 🐾
