Amber’s Favorite Trails

🐾 Amber’s Favorite Trails

Hi friends! It’s me, Amber — your professional trail explorer and Chief Sniffer of All Things Interesting.
Mama said I could share my very best trail recommendations with you, the ones that make my tail wag so hard my whole body wiggles. These are the places where the sunshine smells good, the squirrels are suspicious, and the adventures are BIG.

If you’re looking for dog‑friendly trails in East Tennessee, these are some of my absolute favorites.

Bays Mountain

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

Why I love it: Nice maintained trails, plenty of room to get away from the crowds

Good For:

  • Families
  • Dogs who are well-behaved on the leash and love to sniff every leaf
  • Anyone who wants a peaceful walk in the woods

Roan Mountain

Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult

Why I love it: Absolutely gorgeous views, loads of good smells for my Trail Captain nose

Best For:

  • anyone who loves sweeping mountain views
  • Dogs who love open spaces and cool breezes
  • photographers wanting a high-reward adventure without a lot of technical terrain

Beauty Spot

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

Why I love it: Amazing hike to amazing 360 degree views

Best For:

  • Sunset lovers
  • photographers
  • Open-space loving dogs
  • And you can drive to this one too, so it’s perfect for those who can’t hike long distances
