Hiking Persimmon Ridge Park with My Pittie Paws in Jonesborough, TN

Hi friends! It’s Amber, your favorite hiking pittie, here to tell you all about my latest adventure at Persimmon Ridge Park in Jonesborough, Tennessee — one of my top picks for dog‑friendly hiking trails in East TN.

Mama and I began on the paved trail that climbs a big hill, dips down the other side, and leads to the long wooden bridge. I trotted across like a pro! Before heading into the woods, I got a quick splash in the creek. The water was chilly and perfect, but I didn’t stay long — there were too many smells waiting for me on the gravel trail.

We hiked up a huge hill (basically a mountain if you ask me). At the top, the trail followed the ridge. I didn’t see many animals, but I could smell deer, squirrels, raccoons, and a few mystery critters. The trail zig‑zagged back down to the gravel path and eventually led us to a short dirt trail. At the end was a giant “water tank.” I still don’t know how anyone drinks from something that big, but Mama seemed impressed.

We hopped onto another wooded ridge trail where I could see buildings far away through the trees. After following that trail back to the gravel road, we made our way to the paved path and back to the car.
This was such a fun hike at Persimmon Ridge Park, but I always wish the trails were longer. Mama says we’ll be back soon to explore even more of the park — and I can’t wait!
Paws up and happy trails! Love, Amber 🐾
