🐾 Amber’s Rocky Fork Adventure: Squirrels, Sniffs, and Slippery Creek Drama

Hey trail friends — it’s Amber again! Mama and I spend a lot of time hiking around Rocky Fork State Park in Northeast Tennessee, and let me tell you… it is always a PAWFUL of excitement. Let me tell you about one of our best hikes there:

🌲 The Trail Begins: So Many Smells, So Little Time

We started off strong — nose to the ground, tail in the air. The trail was packed with squirrel trails, chipmunk whispers, and mysterious forest scents. I zig-zagged like a pro, sniffing every leaf and log.

This dog-friendly hiking trail had everything: crunchy leaves, muddy paw prints, and even a few spots that smelled like deer. Mama kept saying, ā€œAmber, slow down!ā€ but I was on a mission.

šŸ§—ā€ā™€ļø Climbing Up: Trail Queen in Action

The trail got steep, but I didn’t mind. I powered up the mountain like a four-legged explorer. Mama huffed and puffed behind me, but I was in my element — paws steady, ears flapping, heart full of adventure.

We reached a lookout spot where the trees opened up and the air smelled like pine and possibility. I posed like a trail queen, obviously.

šŸ’§ Creek Dreams Dashed

I was so ready to splash in the creek — I even did my ā€œplease let meā€ paw lift. But Mama said it was too cold and slippery. Ugh. I gave her my best sad eyes, but she stayed firm.

So we turned around, and I sulked for a few steps… until I spotted another squirrel trail. Mood: instantly restored.

šŸ• Final Sniffs and Homeward Bound

As we headed back, I made sure to sniff every spot I missed on the way up. Mama gave me a treat for ā€œbeing a good sport,ā€ and I forgave her for the creek betrayal.

Rocky Fork is now on my ā€œmust-returnā€ list — especially when the weather’s warmer and Mama’s feeling brave.
